Anurag Kashyap is controversey's child.
His first dircetorial venture Paanch (based on the Abhyankar Murders in Pune) had a torrid time with the censors. The censors had famously claimed that Indian audiences are not ready for such a dark film. The film had a running battle with censors for more than 3 years and am not very sure whether it got released in India.
Now his second movie Black Friday (based on the Mumbai riots) has been stayed by the Mumbai High Court and the producers have moved to SC to vacate the stay.
I had a bleak week end as I was planning to catch this movie during the week end.
